VANCOUVER ARCHBISHOP PROTESTS GAY CURRICULUM
°ü¸®ÀÚ
Vancouver, Sep. 06 (CWNews.com) - A Canadian archbishop has sharpened questioned an educational arrangement in which a homosexual couple will provide instruction on gender for schools in British Columbia.

Archbishop Raymond Roussin of Vancouver said that the agreement "could jeopardize the right of parents to determine how their children are educated."

The classroom programs on homosexuality, he said, in a column published by the BC Catholic, "could lead to the introduction of morally objectionable material in the school system."

The archbishop urged the faithful in British Columbia to contact government officials and seek a reversal of the policy.

Although the program would not apply to Church-run schools, he made it clear that he felt an obligation to defend the rights of all parents. The archbishop explained,

"although Catholic and other independent schools have been assured by the government that the agreement does not apply to them, Catholic parents whose children attend public schools have been given no such assurances."
